land upon Meherin River from the deep cut up the said River in a neack [sic] Called hids neack [sic] dureing [sic] his Natural life & after his decease & mill Item I give and demise the aforesaid Plantation & land onto my Grandson Benjamin Whitehead & to the heirs Body Lawfully Begotten foreve I also Lend unto my Son Nathan Whitehead the use of two Negros one called Dick and his wife called Rose dureing [sic] his Natural Life and after his decease Item I give & demise unto my Grandson Benja Whitehead the afore mentioned Negros Dick and Rose with their Increase that should be after the said Nathan Whitehead is or shall be in possession of or possesses with the said slaves to the said Benja white head and his heirs Lawfully Begot ten forever Item I give and demise to my Son Nathan Whitehead & the heirs of his Body Lawfully Begotten Two hundred Acres of Land lying on the South side of a Swamp Called Pollocks Beaver Dam ajasuant [sic] Near to my Plantation the said Land being in Carrs line over fishing Creek the said Land to him & and his heirs forever I also give to my Son Nathan one feather Bed and Furniture Besides the Bed he had before and also five Cows and calves and one Gun Besides the before & one Iron Pot & Half a dozen putter plates & 3 Dishes & 2 spoons and one Breeding Mare & one grindstone D two Iron wegges [sic] Item I lend to my Daughter Patience Vick a parcel or Dividend of Land being ajascant [sic] to the said Jacob Vicks Plantation & so Tunning down said Swamp to a branch Called The Long branch being about four hundred Acres with the use of the said Land dureing [sic] her Natural Life and after her Decease Item I give & demise the aforesaid Land to my Grandson Jacob Vick & to the heirs of his Body Lawfully Begotten forever I also give the aforesaid mentioned Grandson one Negro Boy Called SHarper and one feather Bed and furniture to him and his heirs forever Item I give and demise onto my Daughter Patience Vick five Shillings Item I give and demise onto my Dau ghter Catrin Cobb 5 Shillings and also desire that she nor her heirs may or shall have any more of my Estate then what she the aforesaid Catrin hath had before Item I give and demise to my Daughter Mary White head and her Heirs Lawfully Begotten of her body a Plan tation with two hundred Acres of Land belonging to the same forever the aforementioned Plantation being on the South side of Fishing Creek on a swamp called the Beaver Dam Item I also give my said Daughter Mary a Negro Girl Called Jone to her and her heirs with the Increase of the said Negro forever Item I also give to my said Daughter Mary one feather Bed & furniture Item I dive $ demise unto my Daughter Ann Whitehead & to the heirs of her body Lawfully Begotten a Plantation on the southwest side of Swift Creek with the Dividend of Land thereto belonging forever Item I also Give unto the aforesaid Daughter Ann a Negro Bot Called Toney & also a feather Bed & furniture to her Heirs Lawfully Begotten forever And as for what small part of my Estate is not already given I Constitute Appoint & Desire my loving Brother Wm Whitehead & Capt Thos Jarrell and Mr James Washington to divide what shall appear without dours and within dours Equally Between my Ex'or and his three Sisters Patience, Mary & Ann I do hereby Constitute or Daine appoint my Son Lewis Whitehead my full and sole Ex'or of this my Last Will & Testament As Witness my hand and seal this Twelfe [sic] day of March one thousand Seven hundred & forty four My Desire and meaning is that my } Arthur Whitehead whole Estate may Remain as It } now is until after my Loving wife's } decease and that she may have her proper } Support & Maintenance out of the same } during her natural life ................ } Signed sealed & delivered } in the presence of us --- } William Whitehead Lazarus Whitehead his William W Bork mark At Court held for the county of Southampton on Thursday the 10th day of January 1751.
